July 2025, Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s PCSI Pumas took to the field for a spirited game of Beep Baseball, facing off against the skilled Puget Sound Waves. The matchup brought energy, teamwork, and plenty of learning moments as our team continues to develop in this lucrative sport.
What is beep baseball?
Beep Baseball is an adaptive version of baseball designed for athletes who are blind or visually impaired, using a beeping ball and buzzing bases so players can navigate the field through sound rather than sight.
The Puget Sound Waves showed why they’re considered one of the stronger teams in the region, securing an 11–0 victory against the Pumas.
Despite the loss, the spirit on the field remained upbeat. Both teams shared plenty of laughs and sportsmanship. Combined with perfect weather, it made for an outstanding day of connection and community.
During the game, our team learned that the Beep Baseball World Series was scheduled for July 20–26, 2025, in Missouri/Illinois. Even more exciting, two stand-out players from the Puget Sound Waves, Jacob Kamanu and Dylan Pleasants, were invited to join the Houston team in the World Series.
After watching them play, the invite made perfect sense—they’re absolute beasts on the field.
Every role is essential in Beep Baseball, and our team worked together seamlessly throughout the game
The Puma’s are already gearing up for the next match. With renewed motivation, stronger strategies, and more practice planned, we’re excited to keep growing and improving.
Win or lose, this experience reminded us what Beep Baseball is all about: teamwork, resilience, and community.
Here’s to more great games ahead. Go Puma’s!
